All The Rugs In Our Home

When we bought our house a year ago, we knew that we wanted to rip out the carpet and put LVP (luxury vinyl plank) throughout the whole house. I love the clean look of wood floors throughout the house, but I do think that rugs make spaces feel extra cozy, so it was important to us to have rugs in all of our main living spaces! We ended up buying one Ruggable rug for our living room, and really loved it - the look of it and the aesthetic was perfect for giving our home a warm cozy feel, but I also love that it was easy to set up and washable as well. I do love the look of vintage rugs, but the maintenance and cleaning them is near to impossible, so this is a really great alternative. Traditional rugs are typically super thick and heavy and catch everything on them like hair and dirt just gets stuck in them because they’re thick pile, so I love how thin pile these are, and just how simple and clean they look in each room.

QUALITY:
I honestly think especially for the price these rugs are great quality and beautiful. Rugs can be thousands of dollars for something that you can’t clean & is so heavy you can never swap it out. I love these for the look of something higher end but at a competitive price. The rugs are low pile, so don’t expect a super plush thick pile rug, but I prefer a low pile rug anyways personally! They don’t pill and they don’t collect hair and dirt like thicker rugs always have; which also makes them easy to vacuum and clean.

THE DETAILS:
We ended up buying a rug for pretty much every room in our house after that first one in our living room, including a runner for our closet, and the kitchen. I like that there are a lot of different designs to choose from but you can still get the look of a more expensive or vintage rug; but at a good price & it’s practical because you can clean it easily. We have spilled coffee so many times on our living room rug (hello life with a 2 year old) and I just use our little carpet cleaner to clean it right up! I really like the look of the one in our living room because it has a lot going on but it’s also pretty subtle in that room, it’s neutral, and I think it adds some nice depth & texture. The rug that is in our bedroom is nice because it’s pretty subtle and washed looking which is great for being mostly under the bed, and just adding a little bit of warmth. I like the moodiness of the rug in my office, and in the guest bedroom, we decided to do one that had a little bit of color to it. Like I said, there’s a huge variety of rugs to choose from, this is just kind of the style that I like to go with, but they have a lot of more modern and colorful rugs as well.

HOW TO LAY THE RUG DOWN:
The execution of how to put the rug down in a room is also honestly really simple. This is not a sponsored post, so all thoughts are my own and we have actually purchased every rug but one in our home, so I feel like this is something I’m invested in and actually really have a knowledge on! The rugs come in two parts, one is the rug cover and one is the rug pad. You can pick two thicknesses of rug pads - I prefer the thinner original cushion because it lays really flat under furniture and is easy to vacuum on top. The rug pad is a thin and flat nonslip pad that keeps the rug cover in place. You lay that rug pad out first, exactly where you want the rug to go and then you put the rug on top of that. The idea is that if the rug needs to be washed or deep cleaned, you can pull the rug cover off and wash that without having to wash the rug pad underneath. This makes it so the rug overall is really lightweight (almost like a thick blanket but it’s made of a great water resistant texture that helps keep it clean for daily use). When putting the rug pad down, roll it out and make sure its flat and laying where you want the rug to go. I find it easiest to hold the corners of the rug cover over the pad and gently lay it down on top so the pad is completely covered by the rug. TIP: I would suggest putting your rugs down with two people, I think it would be pretty finicky to do it with just one person. Matt and I have put down all the rugs in our rooms and slid them under beds, put them under the couches, etc. and it’s really not that much of a headache.
